Final reflection 5/19/2008

Did you meet your goals?
Well i didnt have any goals in my intership to accomplish but any way there are always goals in life depending in what you do and that happened to me i didnt know anything about my intership but i learned a lot things that i know will help at least to get a job in NYU Medical center.

What are the most important things you’ve learned?
The most important things i learned was how to be more serious about your job and also how to get use to things that you dont want to do but you have to do it because will help you later on, like this intership another important thing i learned was how to be more respectful and helpful to customers that needs help and also almost everything about verification site.

In what ways have your grown?
Some way i have grown are, being more responsible and also how to care about your job and to be more helpful and pacific with people.

What were the highlights of your internship experience?
Some of my experiences in my intership were work with people that you dont even know and also get to a place where evverybody is looking at like you are gonna steal something is very hard.

If you can, describe a memorable moment or experience.
Well a memorable day was the first day of work it was very hard i was ashamed and very nervous is something that i will never forget.

What challenges did you overcome?
Some of the challenges i overcame was how to do my assingments because sometimes they were vey hard and i was scared because i didnt want to make mistakes but after i was very sure about what i was doing and i was doing a good job.

What advice would you give a new intern at this site?
Well a good advice would that they need to take it seriously and be responsible working hard like if they wre getting money for it.

What will you miss about your internship?
Somethig i will miss about my intership is myy mentor and also the way i used to work because i felt like i was like an important person already and also my cowworkers.

OLD: Something old i did this week was filing answering calls and also going to the hospital.

OLD: I was working with immigration checking some paper works and making sure they were completely filled.

My mentor's name is kimberly Ma.

2. Where are you from?
She is from Staten Island

3. Where did you go to college? For how long? Do you plan to go back to school?
Nyack college for 4 years , and yes she wants to go back to school this fall for nursing.

4. (If the interviewee went to college)…What was your major in college and what kind of degree do you earn?
My mentor studied theology and intercultural studies and got Bachelors degree.

5. Why did you choose that field?
She couldnt find many jobs oppotunities relating to intercultural studies most of her jobs expenence is in administration so she knew she would be able to learn quickly and do this jjob well.

7. Why did you choose this job?
she had a good supervisor and it was a good opportunity to gain work experience and pay for loans.

8. How long have you worked here?
She has been working for 8 months.

9. What is your job title?
Her job title is project assistant.

10. What do your duties include? Or What kinds of work does your job involve?
Her main duty is to verify employment information to outside companies othher responsiblities include inputting data into th system trackers, filing managing paper work.

11. What are some of the challenges you have faced working here?
Any job that involves customer service usually brings fustration.

12. What is the best part of your job?
She likes her cowworkers.

13. What is something you would like to change about your job?
She says no filing but everything else is ok.

15. What do you see as your future with this company?
There is a lot of rooms for growth and promotion but unfotunately i will only be with NYU the end of the summer.
